Show It Off Sunday: From Pins to Projects!

Okay, time is up (for me at least) - time to premiere my
very first linky party - Show It Off Sunday: From Pins to Projects

Confession: Remember the 2 projects I showed you a few days ago in my preview?
Well, I only completed 1 of those...
Yeah, oopsy!  I didn't yet get to make my car organizing caddy, BUT,
I still stuck to my goal of 5.  Car organizing caddy for next week, perhaps?

1. Blueberry Banana Yogurt Bread

From pin: (Courtesy of Daily Garnish)

to project:

Absolute perfection!  Moist, blueberry-ey, banana-ey, YUMMY!
Here's what I added:

Quick (made it up!) Pecan Streusel Topping:
melt 1/2 stick better
stir in 2-3 tbsp brown sugar
large handful of pecans (as much as you want)

stir it all together and pour over top before baking
Don't skip this step - it was divine!!!

2. Avocado Grilled Cheese

From pin: (Courtesy of A Turtle's Life For Me)

To project:

The Mr. and I both took our grilled cheese creations a step beyond just adding avocado, mozzarella, and pepperoni (original recipe!) His: american cheese, pickled jalapenos, pepperoni, avocado

Hers: turkey, provolone, feta, avocado, pickled jalapenos

These are a new favorite!  Oh my goodness!!
3. Winter Obstacle Course

From pin: (Courtesy of The Golden Gleam)

Please check out The Golden Gleam's original post!  Her obstacle course is so creative and totally winter-themed (skiing, transferring snow, etc.) - SO neat.

To project:

I did this totally on the fly and with a lot of quick thinking, so I created my own more general obstacle course, using The Golden Gleam's ideas.  It was SUCH A HIT - this occupied Audrey for almost an hour (win!!!)  Every time she completed it, she'd say "Can we do that again?"

This was such a life-changing Audrey occupier that I'm going to dedicate a post to it later in the week to show you step by step how we worked our course!

4. Fun With Pipe Cleaners & A Strainer

From pin: (Courtesy of No One Has More Fun Than The Adams)
Note: couldn't find the original post, but wanted to give credit, so
linked to general blog!

to project:

I'll be honest: I'm glad we tried this, but it occupied Audrey for like .12 seconds (or, as long as it
took me to take the photo).  I think it's an awesome activity, but just not for my gal,
or at least not on the day we tried!  I'll keep it in mind again, though.

And, just playing with pipe cleaners proved to be lots of fun - she kept making "nests"
all over the house.

5. "Love" Message Board

From pin: (Courtesy of A Content Housewife)

Isn't that gorgeous?!  I'm almost embarrased to share mine...
To say I did it quickly, without a ton of thought, and only with things
we have on hand would be the truth...

To project:

So, it's pretty clear that I wrote (rather than typed) "I love you because..."
I plan on re-doing this one, but I really wanted to follow through, so I gave it a shot
and yeah, I did this at like midnight last night!  I still LOVE the concept,
but think I can improve it.  I used a frame I had on hand, as well
as scrapbook paper I had on hand.  Easy!

I did it!!!! That's 5!

So now that I've shown you *my* creations, let me share with you the hows and whats
of joining me in the linking up fun!

1. Please link up to your **specific blog post** relating to completing a pinning project (Don't be shy, because it can be ANYTHING - recipes, kid projects, a new fashion trick you tried, a budget tip, printables, etc.)
2. This linky party is just getting started, but the more who participate each week, the better it will be,
so... spread the word!!  Please add a text link on your pins to projects post that links back to this post, so others can find us.  (I hope to create a button for this linky party soon)
3. Please take the time to check out at least one other link while you're here -
you may find your pinning inspiration for next week!

Don't worry - I hope to make this a weekly (or as often as I get my act together) party, so if you can't join today, definitely link up in the future!

Hey Amber! What a great idea for a linky party and how awesome that you did all those pins to projects ~ you amaze me sometimes with all you can juggle and accomplish.

Hi Amber! Thanks for letting me know about your new linky party! I'm excited to be part of the very first Sunday party! I pinned that avocado grilled cheese sandwich too and have yet to make it. You may have just inspired me to heat up the grill and make myself one...as soon as I buy some cheese. :)

Laura - thanks for linking up! I love that project and thanks for including the printable. If only Audrey could read... I bet she'd get a kick out of it anyway! She loves when I draw her little smiley faces and things too :)

Heidi - what an awesome project! I saw the same pin floating around, but wasn't brave enough to try. Yours turned out fantastic and may have just inspired another project for me...

Awesome job on getting your 5 done. I ended up getting nothing done. Here's to a new week and linking up to this weekend's party!

@Kat - It's a brand new week - I hope you can link up this weekend - you don't have to do 5; just 1 will do!! You can do it!

I made 3 recipes I pinned last week. This week, not so much... but mostly because I bought way too many jars of spaghetti sauce and gnocchi on-sale, so I have to use them up ;) I'm not crafty, so I don't have many crafty pins.

@Alyssa - thanks for checking out my post :) I saw your recipe madness on facebook - you are awesome!! There is always something to be said for using up what you have - we are having pantry/freezer meals for the rest of January!

I'm not crafty either, are ya kidding?! But, I try... sometimes.
