Let me just get it out there: My husband is not what you'd call a 'romantic.' On a typical Valentine's Day, you'll find him ducking out around 5:30pm "to run a quick errand," upon which he returns with a card from CVS and a box of Russel Stover chocolates. He always gets me flowers, too. I hope you don't think I'm complaining; it's just how it is and I'm thankful that he thinks of me at all. I, on the other hand, am usually more planful - we don't do 'gifts' for Valentine's Day, but I'll buy his card a week in advance, maybe get him a bottle of whiskey he wouldn't normally get for himself, etc.
Well, not this year, my friends.
The Mr. outdid me in a big way for Valentine's Day.
(and I really liked it that way)
(even though I was a little bummed I couldn't get it together in time)
My hubs truly spoiled me. On TUESDAY (yeah, 2 days before Valentine's Day), he presented me with a dozen beautiful roses. Because, he said, they don't look as good when you buy them on Valentine's Day.
(who is this guy? I'll keep him!)
On WEDNESDAY, he presented me with artisan chocolates from a small, local company - Zoe's Chocolates. Ah-mazing. I also got some blissful warming bubble bath (eucalyptus scent!) and bath minerals. They aren't pictured; I was too eager to use those right away.
Oh yeah, and then ON Valentine's Day, the Mr. made dinner. His specialty - perfectly cooked linguine with a perfectly lovely delicious marinara sauce. I wish the man cooked more often, but I guess it keeps it special ;)
So, yes, me = truly spoiled.
and him? He's lucky he got a card out of me this year and lots and lots and lots of 'THANK YOU's!
I hope you were spoiled by someone this Valentine's Day, too.
