Wow - just like that, nearly a week has passed since I've blogged. It feels like a lot has happened in a week and rather than do a bunch of little posts about each thing, I'm collapsing them into one great big 'catch up' post, so settle in if you care about this thing or move onto the next blog, if you don't ;) But really, there are some cute pictures coming, so please stay :)
Here's the quick and dirty recap of the last week and what's ahead...
last Wednesday - had my pre-employment physical for my full-time job beginning 9/4. Oh man - driving out there (40 minute commute with no traffic) made me realize how soon I'm starting my job. I have a big mess of emotions about the whole thing, swinging from excitement (felt most during the day time) to crying and sadness (most often seen at night). I think I *will* save my thoughts on this for another post. I have a lot to say!
last Thursday - Audrey had a teacher 'meet and greet' at her new school (elementary school!!) and met her teacher. The PTA put on a really nice picnic, too, but we didn't stay long as we were anxious to get on the road for our last beach weekend. It was really neat seeing A's kindergarten room and meeting her teacher. Her teacher seems fabulous and we've heard great things about her. Audrey was thrilled to see her class and it was so cute seeing her introduce herself to new friends. I'm really excited for her, but it just doesn't seem real! How did we get here so fast?!
last Thursday - Sunday -- our very last beach weekend. SO MUCH FUN!
We got to spend time with my grandma-in-law (MeMaw) and just enjoy our last little get away before reality returns. We packed a lot into a short weekend... beach time, playing at the awesome bay side park, bike riding, boardwalk, rides, etc.
|big sisters are the best, huh?!|
|boardwalk lemonade is the *best*|
Sunday we returned home and started the process of getting ready for the week... It's funny how it's always SO sad to leave the beach, but then feels SO great to be home and in our house, too.
Monday - Audrey's last day of pre-k (I didn't even take a photo!!!) and the Mr. and I attended kindergarten orientation for parents. Dude, there is a lot to keep track of... send a towel for quiet time, label this, label that, school supplies, where to pick her up/drop her off (she's doing before/after care) etc. and so forth. If Audrey hadn't been in pre-k full time for the last year, I think this would be a lot more shocking to us. It's a lot to take in!
Monday afternoon, I got to drive out to my new job again (on the upside, I get to test out the commute and different routes) to get my tb test placed. I hope I don't have Tuberculosis ;)
Monday evening, we let the kids go wild in the backyard, playing in the water and being crazy little bubs. It's been so mild here this August and yesterday was finally hot enough to bust out the pool again!
And, hey, here we are. It's Tuesday!
See? That wasn't so bad!
Before I go, let me share this week's menu. I know it's totally out of place in the blog post, but I'm really trying to keep up with menu planning and if I'm honest, I'm doing a horrible job! Writing it down helps :)
Tuesday - fresh corn/bean tostadas with homemade salsa
Wednesday - Pasta with a roasted eggplant pesto
Thursday - summer potato/bean soup
Friday - Pioneer Woman's cajun chicken pasta (never made it last Sunday as planned)
Saturday - leftovers
Sunday - football draft party = junk food! yay!
Hope your week is off to a good start!
