(Mostly) Worldess Wednesday - Hair Transformation

After all that time spent growing my hair out... I decided to chop it off.  Of course I did. That's what I do.  I get bored easily and need to switch it up.  I used to switch it up with lots of hair dying (helloooo burgundy), but with my goal of having healthier locks, I've cut down on that quite a bit.  So, playing with the length helps achieve my need for change.

I will be honest... I didn't want it to be *this* short.  And I've had it this short in the past, so it's no big deal.   But, I had a picture in my head and this wasn't it.  I'm pretty sure it was my fault, as I told my stylist how many inches to chop and she should know that I'm really awful with measurement.  Oh well.  It grows... and in the mean time, I'm playing with different styles and embracing it, because what else can you do?

I think it's super hard to find cute ways and variations to style short hair (I know, I've been looking on Pinterest!), so here's my gallery of short hair styles to try out if you're in the short hair club, like me.

Enjoy and tell me which ones are your favs!

First, a before shot -- just over shoulder length, or about shoulder length I guess

#1 After - the day it was cut

Style #2 - clipped back to both sides with a bobby pin, one side behind the ear, one not

Style #3 - a little poof/boufant up front and hair pulled back with bobby pins on bo
Style #4: tucked behind one ear, bangs to side with bobby pin
Style #5: down, a little more oomph/volume with product, bangs to side with bobby pin
Style #6 - Who says you can't put your short hair up?!  You sure can - bobby pins are your friend!  I can't really pull my hair in a messy bun with a pony anymore, but I can create a similar effect with bobby pins - this do only took 3!
Style #7 - bobby pin updo with headwrap - I realize you can't see the back but it's the same as #6
Style #8 - partial updo with bobby pins, side swept bang
Style #9 - twisty bobby pin updo with center parted bangs in front
Style #10 - aerial view to show you how my bangs are twisted back, hair partially behind one ear, in front in the other - my hair is dark so it's hard to see in the photo, but the twist is cute!

There you have it.  Short hair doesn't have to be boring. Rock what you've got, whether you intended to get that short cut... or not ;)

seriously I should try some of these too. I'm in the same boat. I wanted a trim but got a little more than that and now I'm just dealing. I feel like there isn't much to do with it. Although you have managed to do different things with you and they all look great.

Didn't you just get it cut? That is an awful lot of hairstyles! Goodness! I have longish hair and I haven't tried that many. BTW, I LOVE that cardi in example 8 with the elbow pads!
